HEARINGS SET FOR OCT 17, 18, 19 ON HIGH SPEED RAIL PROJECT
A series of public hearings focusing on a high speed rail project will take place in mid-October in our area.
The Washington, DC to Richmond (DC2RVA) segment of the Southeast High Speed Rail (SEHSR) project is part of a larger nationwide higher speed intercity passenger rail plan identified by USDOT and the states of VA and NC.
The Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) will host a combined open house and formal public hearing on these dates:
- Tuesday, October 17 at 7 p.m. at Hilton Alexandria Old Town, 1767 King St., Alexandria, VA
- Wednesday, October 18 7 p.m. at James Monroe High School, 2300 Washington Ave., Fredericksburg, VA
- Thursday, October 19 at 7 p.m. at National Museum of the Marine Corps, 18900 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Triangle
The public will have an opportunity to discuss the project with team members at the open house before providing comments for the official record either in writing or verbally during the public hearing. Verbal comments will be recorded by a court reporter, and will be limited to three minutes each.
