COMMENT ON I-66 COMMUTER CHOICE FUNDING PROJECTS
The Northern Virginia Transportation Commission (NVTC) is seeking public comment on 17 transit and roadway improvement projects submitted for funding consideration under the I-66 Commuter Choice program. Four of the funding requests are for projects in western Prince William County and Manassas.
Projects selected for funding must benefit the users of the portion of I-66 between I-495 and U.S. Route 29 in the Rosslyn area of Arlington County. Comments will be accepted via mail, email or telephone through April 16, 2018 and at two public hearings. The Commission will select projects in May and present them to the Commonwealth Transportation Board for final approval in June.
NVTC has scheduled two public hearings that will start with an Open House at 6 p.m., followed by a brief presentation at 7 p.m. The hearings will start immediately after the presentations on these dates:
- Tuesday, March 20 at the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce, 1886 Metro Center Drive, Suite 230, Reston, Virginia.
- Thursday, April 5 at the Navy League Building, 2300 Wilson Blvd., first floor conference room, Arlington, Virginia.
