OmniLink Fares

Starting March 3, 2008, SmarTrips cards will be accepted for fares on PRTC's buses. For details, see the SmarTrip page.

Exact cash fare, bus ticket or SmarTrip card required.
OmniLink bus operators cannot make change.

Free Fares
  Valid VRE Ticket or Pass to or from bus stop nearest a VRE Station ($1.00 OmniLink Off-route Trip Surcharge for pickup/drop off at station still applicable
  Children 5 & under (2 per paying adult, children 8 and under cannot ride unattended)

Local Bus Day Pass may be purchased on buses. Passes are good for local travel (within Prince William, Manassas, and Manassas Park) all day on the date issued. Day Passes must be purchased with cash.

Reduced Fare Eligibility is applicable to adults 60 years and older, persons with a disability or persons presenting a valid Midicare card. Senior citizen verification may be required. Riders eligible for reduced fares on PRTC buses MUST PAY WITH CASH or WMATA issued Senior (65+)/Disabled SmarTrip Card.Passengers meeting reduced fare eligibility may apply for a Reduced Fare Eligibility Card by contacting PRTC Customer Service or by downloading the form here. The completed form and any required supporting documentation should be mailed to PRTC at the address on the form, faxed to (703) 583-1702 or converted to an electronic file and emailed to Omni@OmniRide.com.

Off-route Trip Surcharge applies to all pick ups and drop offs at locations not along the standard route, including on-demand stops. MUST BE PAID WITH CASH. Seniors and disabled with a Reduced Fare Eligibility Card are EXEMPT from the surcharge.

Transfers Options:

Transfers are good for 2 hours on the day issued. Please request the transfer when you board the bus.

  • Local bus to local bus - NO FREE transfers (except between Potomac Mills Mall and PRTC Transit Center), purchase Day Pass, pay separate fares for each bus or pay fare for the entire trip on first bus and request transfer
  • Local bus to/from OmniRide Commuter Bus - Pay $5.50 in cash or $4.00 token and request the transfer
  • Local bus to/from Metro Direct - Pay $2.50 cash or $2.10 token and request the transfer
  • OmniRide to/from OmniRide - FREE with transfer
  • OmniRide or Metro Direct to/from Other Regional bus (e.g. Metrobus, Fairfax Connector) - FREE to other bus systems. Cost varies for return trip; call Customer Service to determine the cost of your trip.
  • Using a SmarTrip card - the electronic farebox will calculate and automatically deduct the correct fare from your SmarTrip card.
