Prince William County Personal Property Tax Relief for Qualified Vanpool Owners

The Prince William County Government (PWC) offers a special low tax rate to qualified vanpool owners registered with OmniMatch. Please print and complete the form below, which must also be notarized. For your convenience, notaries are available at the PRTC Transit Center.

The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) will mail an application to registered vanpool owners who live in Prince William County (or you can download the application above). The application, along with a cover letter, is sent on or before February 1st of the current year. Completed applications must be returned on or before May 1st of the current year. Using the completed application, PRTC's Customer Service Agent/Rideshare Technician will verify that the vanpool owner is registered in the regional rideshare database.

Once the applications are verified, the pertinent information is compiled and sent to the PWC Taxpayer Services Office on or before May 30th of the current year. The data provided to PWC includes the vanpool owner's name, home address of the vehicle, vanpool owner's social security number, vehicle title number, and the certified date of the vanpool.

In order to be eligible to receive the tax relief benefit on additional and/or replacement vehicles, canpool owners must send any updated vehicle information to PRTC no later than the date stated above. Lat submissions will be sent to the PWC Taxpayer Services Office, however the amount of the tax relief may be reduced as it is dependent on the certification date provided by PRTC.
