The D.C. Department of transportation has pushed back the start of rehabilitation work on the 14th Street Bridge to Tuesday, May 26. The rehabilitation project was supposed to start today; however DDOT decided to postpone the work until after the Memorial Day weekend.
This 2-year-project is not expected to have a direct impact on OmniRide routes because buses will not be traveling through the construction zone. However, as with any major road project, delays are possible outside of the construction zone. Delays should be anticipated for at least the first few weeks while drivers adjust to the new traffic patterns.
PRTC will monitor the traffic flow and make adjustments, if possible.
Further updates will be sent as necessary.
